Our Orrin caravan has been specially designed for the use of guests with mobility difficulties.
A ramp and platform were added for the 2012 season, with non-slip decking surface.
The special features in the interior of the caravan do not in any way impede use by fully mobile guests; they just show a little extra care and thought given by the designers to how all guests can enjoy their stay more easily.
All the interior doors in Orrin are wide, sliding doors and there is that bit more space in each part of the caravan. Although it measures only a foot shorter than the Conon caravans, Orrin is designed as a three berth, with a single bedroom and a double bedroom and a further single bed which can be made up in the lounge area, if necessary.
Any guests who have any special requirements can just give us a ring at any time or drop us a letter or email and we will do our best to accommodate them. After all, we want you to have a good holiday!
There is a removable seating unit in the lounge which can be taken out to allow wheelchair access to the dining table.
The shower and toilet are both located in the same room. The shower cubicle has a fixed, fold-down seat and grabrail. The shower cubicle has a relatively low threshold, wide access and the curtain can be pushed to either side for convenience. The toilet is raised and has a handrail on either side, one of which can be folded back when not in use. There is an additional handrail on the right hand side of the wash hand basin and there is plenty of room to manouver in the bathroom.
Both bedrooms have adequate space at the side of the bed and fixing points in the roof above the bed, so that guests can bring equipment with them to aid lifting if required.
Parking is directly outside the caravan and access to Orrin is from concrete hard standing onto a permanent ramp with a level landing at the top of the ramp, or by three steps with handrail onto the same level landing. This landing extends along the length of the caravan exterior allowing access to either door.
Inside, the caravan is all on one level and all doors are sliding.
The circular picnic table outside has suitable space for wheelchair access and is also on the hard standing.
